The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the needs of senior education. He/she will have the capability to deliver a high standard of education aligned with the School’s Mission, Vision and Values delivered via the International Baccalaureate’s Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) for Digital Design for which we are a candidate school.

What will you do on a day-to-day basis?
Our MYP students are currently engaged in an exciting practical Design course that develops their creative thinking and problem-solving skills using a range of digital technologies. Our new Design teacher would be experienced in supporting students to develop their 2D computer aided design skills, traditional drawing techniques, and understanding of electronics and systems. Students will require guidance in using the department’s various resources, including coding programmes, 3D printing, laser cutting and soldering. Experience of the IB Middle Years Programme, including the design of authentic assessments for an inclusive learning environment, would be highly valued. Above all, the Amity community works hard to ensure that all students strive to fulfil their academic potential, and that teachers maintain the highest professional standards in all that they do.

What will you bring to the table?
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- A minimum 4-year recognised teaching qualification, including a Bachelor’s Degree and PGCE or equivalent teaching diploma (e.g. B.Ed.)
- Minimum 3 years teaching IB experience
- Excellent fluency in English (verbal and written)
- An innovator, committed to learning and up-to-date with current research
- An inspiring, challenging and empowering educational motivator
- Visible, approachable, with excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour
- Flexible, creative and resilient
