St Albans School utilises a number of eLearning tools and Virtual Learning Environments to enhance and facilitate learning and productivity including a hosted Moodle environment, Firefly, and Office 365. As the School launches a pupil BYOD scheme the demand on these services is expected to increase and the IT Services Department is keen to support both teachers and pupils in the use of these technologies.
This role will report into the Head of IT Services and responsibilities will include supporting staff and delivering training in the use of eLearning systems, supporting pupils in their use of these systems, monitoring and reporting on the use of eLearning tools and assisting staff with the teaching of cross-curricular skills (such as file management) and with administrative tasks relating to eLearning (such as account creation).
The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of Office 365, including SharePoint, Teams and OneNote, along with a good knowledge of other learning platforms, such as Moodle and Firefly. In addition they will need excellent organisational and problem solving skills, the ability to adapt and learn new skills, be an excellent team player with first class customer service and communication skills.
Hours are 37.5 per week during term time, worked over Monday to Friday, plus two weeks during School holidays. The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
