We work with over 30,000 Assessment Specialists (examiners and assessors) who are integral to the success of our business. We are looking for a talented and experienced individual to lead our newly formed Assessment Specialist Management Unit.

As Director, you will be responsible for our future vision and strategy for Assessment Specialists. You will ensure that we are able to get the very best people to carry out the many and varied specialist tasks needed for both the UK and International Education businesses. You will also be responsible for seeing that the Assessment Specialist community enjoy a high quality, streamlined end-to-end experience with us.

About the role

This is a new and exciting role in a newly formed unit of teams from across UK and International Education. Reporting to the Directors of Assessment your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the Assessment Specialist Management teams across UK Education and International Education to deliver a high quality and highly engaged Assessment Specialist community to meet the many and varied requirements of UK & International Education in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Define and develop a strategy for UK & International Education's Assessment Specialists which reinforces and promotes CUP&A's brand and values and improves engagement, development, and retention.
  • Ensure all Assessment Specialist work is compliant and in line with legislation and regulatory requirements including CUP&A's policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate with and influence external stakeholders on behalf of International and UK Education in matters related to Assessment Specialists.
  • Lead the development of Assessment Specialist processes and ways of working to improve operational excellence.


About you

You will have experience at operating at a strategic leadership level with an in-depth understanding of the education world, ideally within an assessment organisation.

You are adept at leading in a complex and regulated environment and comfortable working with ambiguity and across different cultures and political environments.

Using your excellent people leadership skills, you will have proven ability to help teams through periods of change to achieve excellent outcomes.

As part of your role, you will set and track budgets therefore you will be well experienced in this, along with creating business plans and investment cases, developing business models and forecasting.

You will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.

You will have experience in effective strategic resource planning and working with large teams across many locations.
