We are seeking a visionary academic leader with a clear, imaginative and dynamic vision for the future of the Directorate. You will have a proven track record of driving up standards in technical and vocational training, generating significant growth and diversification of income which is in line with the skills priorities of the LEPs and key employers. With experience of working in a senior capacity, you will provide inspirational leadership to ensure the excellent performance of teaching, learning and assessment, to become recognised locally and nationally as outstanding by the students, employers and communities we serve.

You will have a strong track record in working with key employers and external stakeholders to achieve business growth and in developing new markets to support the College’s strategic intent to increase their income diversity. You will have experience of creating a responsive and comprehensive curriculum incorporating a range of provision types including apprenticeships which reflects the short and long-term needs of the regional economy and provides learners with clear ways to progress in their studies and to secure employment.

You will be passionate about developing delivery of new and advanced manufacturing, including renewable energies and knowledge-exchange with our local and regional employers.

You will have a minimum of 3 years’ senior management experience. You will also have substantial leadership experience of both business development and of teaching, learning and assessment.
