In response to a UK Government initiative to establish a prestigious network of Institutes of Technology, Weston College has been successful in leading a consortium of leading regional employers, Further Education, and Higher Education Institutions, to create the West of England Institute of Technology (IoT).
Designed to lead significant change in the development and delivery of Higher-Level technical education and training, the West of England IoT will serve the West of England, Gloucestershire, Somerset region, and will become a respected brand, synonymous with innovation, industry-responsiveness and inclusion. There will be five IoT hubs based in Weston College, University of the West of England, Bath College, Yeovil College and Gloucestershire College, requiring coordination to ensure the West of England IoT delivers its objectives.
In order to establish and develop this high-quality Institute, we are now looking to appoint the Director for West of England Institute of Technology.
The post holder will play a key role in the future of STEM-led Education and Training and will be inspirational and highly motivated. The successful candidate will be able to lead and co-ordinate the successful development of the IoT to ensure it meets its objectives to create flexible, dynamic and accessible learning opportunities to mobilise more people to access high-skilled employment.
Capable of working at a senior level with multiple stakeholders, including the Department of Education, candidates will have the ability to liaise and work with large and small employers as well as a track record delivering against a funder's priorities to deliver a successful outcome. A track record of delivering results through partnership working across multiple organisations and experience of complex project management will be essential.
The post holder will be employed by Weston College of Further and Higher Education on behalf of the West of England IoT partnership.
