Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) is one of the most successful state-funded academies in the country.  Student results speak for themselves and are well above national average. We are part of the BOA Group, a trust which includes other subsidiaries including The Old Rep Theatre.

We are seeking to appoint a new Director of Acting to lead an oversubscribed pathway within the academy which has a reputation for outstanding results, high quality performances, exceptional teaching and learning and vocational links.

BOA also benefits from strong links with Birmingham City University and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, who are our co-sponsors. Julian Lloyd-Webber has recently been appointed as Principal of the Conservatoire, and they are now our closest neighbour.

Acting is offered as part of the performance pathway with students studying BTEC Level 2 at Key Stage 4 and Post 16 students studying BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma.

The person we seek to appoint will have a proven track record in the field of Acting. They will have a passion for collaboration and nurturing talent.

Our overriding requirement is to appoint someone with the capacity to be an excellent leader. Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills are paramount.

The academy is looking for someone who has:

  • A strong track record as an outstanding teacher of Acting
