Ebor Academy Trust is a multi-academy trust serving children aged 2 to 16. It is our aspiration to develop geographical hubs of schools that share our values and we have already made significant strides in achieving this aim. All schools are serviced by our central services team which is located in Osbaldwick, York.
We are now looking to appoint a Director of Compliance and Risk who will be part of the Executive leadership team and whose role will be to provide independent and objective assurance to the Trustees, the executive team and the audit and risk committee across their diverse range of activities.
Within the role you will be responsible for every aspect of compliance that the Trust needs on a day to day basis; maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations and professional rules. Heading up the internal audit process, you will evaluate and test the effectiveness of supporting processes and control systems, whilst also bringing a ‘value-added’ approach, championing best practice and developing a compliance culture.
We are looking for someone who has extensive knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance, especially for the education sector. Fully conversant with GDPR and with experience in managing data breaches, you will have a proven track record in operating at a senior level in a governance, risk and compliance.
Audit experience is required, as is having the ability to influence, build relations quickly and work successfully with a wider team.
