Director of Cricket

We are looking for a Director of Cricket to lead and co-ordinate the delivery of Blundell’s cricket in line with the School Games Philosophy. To strive to increase participation of cricket in the school, working to improve the level of cricket knowledge and skill of all pupils who choose to play cricket.

 SUMMARY OF DUTIES

  • To oversee the Development and structure of the cricket programme throughout the whole school from year 3 to year 13. This will include girls and boys.
  • To coach cricket at all levels when and where required. The person appointed will be able to coach at a high-performance level.
  • Be responsible for the appointment of cricket coaches where required under budget limitations.
  • Quality control the coaching that the pupils will receive from other staff at all levels. Encourage and help with the development of Blundell’s staff cricket coaching.
  • Lead the winter training programme in providing coaching for our performance players.
  • Responsibility for the development of the Fixture list from Years 7-13
  •  Work in tandem with the Sports Administrator to ensure all fixtures are added and are accurate on Socs, hospitality and teas are all in order with the catering and Estates department.
  • Establish good relationship with our Grounds team and ensure quality control of cricket wickets and facilities
  • Manage and control the cricket budget.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety policies and Risk assessments are updated and completed in conjunction with The Heads of sport, and Deputy Head Co- Curricular.
  • Organise tours in conjunction with the tour schedule. To develop a festival programme as directed by The Head.
  • To foster links with the local community including Prep schools, Primary schools, local clubs Devon County Cricket Board and Academies.
