This is both a challenging and exciting time to be working at Coundon Court School.  I hope that you will be enthused and excited by the prospect of working in a highly oversubscribed school where student behaviour is excellent and levels of attainment look set to significantly exceed national benchmarks. Your appointment is designed to add to our capacity in order to deliver an 80% plus school.   

Our challenge is to ensure a delivery of excellence at all levels of operation and maintain the necessary high levels of drive and ambition required as we encounter a sequence of changes to public examinations and accountability measures. 

We require an ambitious and dynamic person to develop the place Design, Technology and Art at Coundon Court. You will have the potential to manage high expectation through robust challenge and engaging teaching. The post is available with a range of possible additional responsibility. If appointed as faculty lead you would be responsible for the whole faculty and its facilities. For the leadership post, you would also want to accept some negotiated whole school responsibility. 

Design Technology and Art and Design have a secure place within our curriculum plan and every student is entitled to an hour a week in Years seven and eight. Each subject is then a GCSE option at the start of Year Nine when students embark on a three year programme of study. 

The two subjects work closely together to develop performance and resilience in excellent, purpose built facilities. A Level Design, Art and Photography are delivered in the Sixth Form.  

A successful candidate will have the opportunity to build and develop from strong foundations and work alongside a strong and committed team of talented practitioners.
