Director of Drama

Chengdu Westminster School, located in Shuangliu  District, is the first school to be launched in China as part of the collaboration between Hong Kong Melodious Education and Technology Group and Westminster School, London.

Chengdu Westminster School comprises:

(i) Nursery & Kindergarten (ages 1-6)

(ii) Primary (ages 6-12)

(iii) Junior Middle School (ages 12-15)

(iv) Senior School (ages 15-18).

Chengdu Westminster School will provide a bilingual education throughout, with the opportunity to board from age 9, and boarding for all from age 12 in the Junior Middle School.

The Kindergarten curriculum is based around EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage); in the Primary and Junior Middle Schools the Chinese National Curriculum is the core of the curriculum, but with elements of a Westminster curriculum and pedagogy. For the senior School, IGCSEs and A levels are the key qualifications.

Chengdu Westminster School occupies a new site, and the campus for 2700  students will be ready for the opening of the school and its first intake of students in September 2020. Chengdu Westminster School’s bilingual education will prepare pupils for further study in both Chinese and English, and especially for entrance to the leading universities worldwide, and for life beyond the campus.

Chengdu Westminster will become a centre of academic excellence.  This success will derive from pupils’ enjoyment of academic enquiry, debate and search for explanation well beyond any published syllabus. Central to the school ethos, and reflecting the values of Westminster School London, will be the dialogue between teachers and their pupils, whether in the classroom or in smaller groups. This will inspire passion for learning, conveying knowledge as well as developing the skills of rational, independent thought.
