Job overview

Holme Grange is a successful, traditional Independent School with waiting lists in most year groups. We are at an exciting stage of our development, with our school having recently extended our excellent provision up to GCSE at Year 11. We admitted our first Y9 pupils in September 2015 and have recently completed a capital development programme which includes a 300 seat theatre - an outstanding resource which incorporates our music and drama teaching facilities. We have innovative, forward thinking staff with an understanding of how children learn. We are looking for someone to join us, who is willing to contribute and adapt to our changing and developing school.

We are seeking to employ an inspirational, dynamic and enthusiastic Director of Drama who is able to lead the department with excellence, energy and creativity and to teach primarily drama across the School and English up to GCSE level.

The successful applicant will be an exemplary practitioner with excellent interpersonal and team-working skills and a strong interest in pastoral care. Our teachers set high standards of themselves and their pupils. If you are dedicated and energetic we offer a delightful working environment which is well resourced. Professional development opportunities are available and encouraged. The position would appeal equally to a teacher looking for the next step in a growing career or an experienced professional seeking a new challenge.

A willingness to play a full part in the extra-curricular and pastoral life of our happy and vibrant school is essential. Holme Grange has its own salary scale.

Holme Grange is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants for all jobs will undergo appropriate child-protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to enhanced level. A Prohibition Check is also carried out. Holme Grange School is an equal opportunities employer.

Pre-application visits welcomed - please phone and book a time. Full details and application form available at www.holmegrange.org or by telephoning 0118 978 1566. Applications will only be accepted by completion of an application form which should be submitted with a hand written letter of application to the Headteacher – Mrs C Robinson.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 21st February 2018. Interviews: Wednesday 28th February 2018.
