The Director of Education is a key role on the Taaleem School Executive Board (SEB), leading and guiding School Principals and their teams to deliver high quality education in each of our schools, achieving Outstanding ratings from the Regulatory Inspection Board. The postholder will promote excellence in school leadership and academic operations, and contribute to the growth and success of the organisation.
Key Accountabilities:
The Director of Education will support the Taaleem schools through establishing high standards and delivery of effective teaching and learning to enable students and staff to succeed.
Manage and monitor performance through systematic and rigorous self-evaluation processes using both internal and external data.
Devise and execute strategies for delivering continuing improvement in the schools.
Lead and manage innovative education, including supporting contributions from Taaleem schools to promote best practice within the private education sector.
Person Specification:
Degree (BA in Education) or a recognised teaching qualification combined with a higher level educational qualification (MA) in Education Management and leadership
More than five years in a Director of Education position, or similar consultative post at SEB level within an education provider
Previous experience leading a school in a headship or Principal position for a minimum of four years
Experience in the international education sector
Experience in the UAE (desirable)
Extensive experience of inspection frameworks, ideally within the UAE and UK. Proven results and development of high performing teams through a hands on approach.

History of Taaleem
The origins of Taaleem began in 2004 when Beacon Education, a school management company was set up to develop and run high quality education projects. Beacon Education was created to meet the need for top-quality schools as the region’s population continues to grow.
Our first schools opened in September 2005 and two years later, His Excellency Nasser Hassan Al-Shaikh, Chairman of the Board of Taaleem, spearheaded a major ongoing investment in Beacon Education by National Bonds, a Dubai-based private joint stock company with around 50% ownership by the Government of Dubai.
Taaleem is the assumed name through which we will continue to deliver our promise to inspire students and help them to identify and develop their passions and talents.
