Job overview

WESC Foundation is looking for a dynamic new lead for our education provision. We cater for young people with all levels of sight loss, multi-sensory impairment and a wide range of complex needs. We have a school and a specialist post 16 college.  In addition we run other support services, including adult day opportunities, supported living and a residential centre for young adults.

We are looking for someone who can set the vision for and ensure the delivery of outstanding education, maximising the potential of our young people and preparing them to have the highest quality of life and independence.

Already in a Senior Education role, your leadership skills, knowledge of complex needs, visual or sensory impairment and the landscape in which WESC Foundation operates, will allow you to set the direction for new and existing services. You will develop our inspiring and challenging Curriculum, leading our teaching, therapy and other specialists to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students and young adults.

As a member of the Executive Team you will share the strategic responsibility to grow the Charity and extend our reach and impact for those with sight loss both in the SW and beyond.

Further details and online application form are available on our website.

If you would like an informal chat about the post please contact Amanda Gorfin, PA to the Chief Executive who will be happy to arrange this 01392 454201 or agorfin@wescfoundation.ac.uk.

Closing date: 7 May 2019. CVs alone will not be accepted.

Assessment and formal interviews will take on 15th May at our campus in Exeter.  You will need to be available the whole day from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.  We are looking for someone to take up post in September 2019.

WESC Foundation is committed to equality and diversity. We welcome applicants regardless of racial, ethnic or national origin, religion or beliefs, disability, sexuality, age or responsibilities for dependents.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are conditional to an enhanced DBS check.
