Director of Education for The Great Schools Trust

The Great Schools Trust is a dynamic and values-led multi-academy trust in the North West. Our five schools (and a further two in development) provide a rounded education of the calibre usually only found in the independent sector, with residential visits, flourishing sport and performing arts, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme, and even a Combined Cadet Force. Our schools are popular with parents and heavily oversubscribed. We are uncompromising in our pursuit of excellence, and recently hosted a hugely successful ResearchED event; and everything we do is underpinned by an unshakeable belief that a great education is the foundation for greater social mobility.

The Trust is looking to appoint an executive leader to its education team starting no later than Easter 2023. The role will be;

Responsible for a group of schools within a designated hub, whilst trust wide, establishing and leading the trust’s Institute of Character & Leadership (IOCL), developing quality assurance and curriculum systems.

The trust’s vision is to change educational outcomes in the North West, by giving our children the same educational experiences and standards of that provided in the independent sector, but free of fees and selection. We are interested to hear from inspirational leaders who will provide the leadership, management support and challenge which promotes the highest standards of achievement, and enables the trust to give every pupil a high quality and inclusive ‘free independent education’.
