Nesta is looking for an outstanding individual to lead our education work. We have backed new ideas in education since we were founded in 1998 - supporting over 300 education-related initiatives, many of which have become mainstream.
Nesta’s education work straddles research, practical programmes and investment. It currently focuses on three areas: adapting education to likely future skills needs; making the most of digital technologies for education; and mobilising the public’s time and energy to complement the work of teachers and other professionals.
Building on existing activities, the Director of Education will take responsibility for overall strategic direction, management, development and funding. Working with the Executive team, you will plot a course for the next three years to extend Nesta’s impact. You will understand where Nesta can add the most value and build effective relationships with existing and new partners, including innovative businesses, government bodies, non-profits and others to identify exciting new opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working at a senior level combined with entrepreneurialism and an understanding and passion for education, technology and innovation. You will be fiercely practical and determined to use your time at Nesta to make a significant contribution to originating and scaling new initiatives.
