About the Trust

Our aim is to become the leading provider of inclusive Sikh schools which have an enviable reputation for academic achievement, breadth of enrichment opportunities set within a spiritual and caring environment.

The Trust provides support to local schools in many ways but foremost for education, so it is right that at the heart of what we do is a focus on school improvement, staff development, and enabling our young people to excel. We support schools in meeting the challenges of rising expectations through mutually supportive intervention and training.

All our schools are based on the Sikh ethos; which is enshrined in the principle of equality, well-being and success for all. Prospective candidates are expected to be sensitive to the religious, cultural, moral and ethical values of the Trust.

This principle and our values will ensure that our young people will be poised to make a positive contribution in our multi-cultural Britain.

About the role

The Khalsa Academies Trust is seeking a talented and experienced senior educational leader with the ability to further improve our existing academies by drawing on the principles and values of co-operation. The Khalsa Academies Trust supports four academies in Slough, Stoke Poges, East London and Wolverhampton. The Trust is keen to expand but needs to ensure it is managed in a sensible and measured way. The successful candidate will work with headteachers/principals, local governing bodies, the trust’s range of educational partners and the small central trust team to drive forward educational attainment. This will include performance managing the headteachers/principals in partnership with the chair of governors. In addition, they will be the ambassador for the trust and oversee the acquisition process for new academies.

Being able to advise the Trust board through timely and well considered advice and guidance is crucial. Having a deep understanding of effective school/academy improvement processes is essential as well as a positive outlook on life and a genuine desire to make a difference to the pupils. The candidate will be expected to travel to other schools within the Trust on a regular basis.
