The Foundation is part of a consortium that has secured over £78 million in government funding to make sure every child in every school in England has access to a world-leading computing education. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform the way we teach computing and computer science.
Working with our partners, STEM Learning and the British Computer Society, we will establish a new National Centre for Computing Education, and deliver a comprehensive programme of support for computing teachers in primary and secondary schools. This will include resources, training, research, certification, and more. We are now looking for a Director of Educator Support to drive this programme forward.
This new role, reporting to the Chief Learning Officer, is an exciting opportunity to help us expand our existing work to support educators who are teaching computing in schools. You will manage a team working on projects related to content development, online learning, and face-to-face training for primary and secondary school computing teachers. You will also lead our work to develop and engage a community of educators, including through our termly magazine.
We’re looking for a highly motivated and effective leader who is able to head a new area of the Foundation’s work. You’ll be passionate about improving the quality of, and broadening access to, computing education across the UK, and you will have have a good understanding of primary and secondary school computing education.

- Lead a team that is focused on supporting the teaching and learning of computing for both primary- and secondary-age children in formal education settings
- Oversee the development of world-class educational materials, online courses, and face-to-face training
- Lead on the development of evidence-based pedagogy and assessment in school computing, disseminated through a series of publications for teachers
- Take responsibility for KPIs measuring engagement and delivery, reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Manage a substantial budget and ensure effective financial management of related areas of work
- Work collaboratively with a wide range of partners and subcontractors
- As a member of the leadership team, contribute to the overall mission, strategy, and direction for the Foundation
- Represent the Raspberry Pi Foundation to external audiences and stakeholders
Experience and personal attributes
You should have:
- Experience of teaching computing in primary or secondary schools
- Understanding of the computing curriculum in primary and secondary education
- A proven track record of delivering projects that meet the desired objectives
- Experience of leading and supporting a team
- Experience of managing budgets effectively
- The ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity
- A supportive and collaborative approach to leadership
- Willingness to travel, primarily within the UK
You’ll ideally also have:
- An understanding of education and education policy in computing or STEM
- A degree in a relevant subject
