Job overview

Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill is looking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious leader to support the newly-appointed Principal, staff and our students as we deliver ‘Excellence for All’.

The successful post-holder will be responsible for delivering significantly improved progress in the core subject area of Mathematics, supported by a passionate and highly capable team.

At Lord’s Hill, our Mathematics curriculum is deliberately ambitious and at the heart of the Academy’s educational provision. It is designed to provide all students with the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life.  In our curriculum, mathematical knowledge underpins the application of skills.

We are searching for somebody who can join us on the exciting next phase of our journey. Over time, this post will involve whole-school leadership opportunities which will provide excellent preparation for those aspiring to deputy headship and headship in the future.

Lord’s Hill is a good school, and is part of the highly successful Oasis Community Learning multi-academy trust.  The successful candidate will share the ambition of community transformation, delivered by exceptional education at the heart of the community.  A commitment to the Oasis ethos, allied to a relentless drive to improving the personal development, behaviour and attitudes of young people is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an excellent school in a great community, providing significant professional development opportunities.

Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill opened in 2008 as part of the initial Academy programme. Since we have been open we have seen significant improvements in achievement, progress and attendance. Academic achievement has markedly improved for all students regardless of their needs or starting positions. In fact analysis of our data by prior attainment (low, middle and high) shows that we outperform most schools nationally. We have also seen a huge improvement in student attendance. This is a good indicator, because if students want to be at school they attend regularly.

We have a brand new building which offers our students outstanding learning opportunities. We are very fortunate to have these facilities and we are committed to making the most of them both for our students and the wider community.

The ethos of the Academy cannot simply be summed up by our new building, our improved results and better attendance. The heart and soul of Lord’s Hill can be summed up in our core values which are essential to every member of staff and are the essence of who we are.

Core values:

  • A passion to include everyone
  • A desire to treat everyone equally, respecting differences
  • A commitment to healthy and open relationships
  • A deep sense of hope that things can change and be transformed
  • A sense of perseverance to keep going for the long haul

As an Academy we are dreaming, planning and acting to ensure that Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill becomes an outstanding learning community. This is our aim, not for the praise of politicians or specialists, nor to lord it over others. We follow our aim because this community deserves it. We do it because it is the right thing to do.

If you feel that you too can make a difference to our students’ future we’d love to hear from you.
