Contract Type: Permanent

The Littlehampton Academy (TLA) is at an exciting stage in its improvement journey. Under the assured leadership of our new Principal, Morgan Thomas, we have made important improvements over a short period of time. Our team is proud of what has been achieved and feels confident about the future. Nevertheless, we know we have more to do.
At the heart of our academy is a commitment to know and nurture each young person who learns with us. That means an unwavering focus on progress for all, united in a shared vision. Our vision recognises both the individuality of each student and the importance of every member of staff as we seek to inspire growth. Together, we are resolved to ensure each and every student achieves their full potential and develops the skills they need to succeed in their future lives.
Achieving our vision demands outstanding teaching; it also requires inspirational and passionate leaders across all our faculties. That’s why our new Director of Faculty for Humanities will play a crucial role in our future success.
Leading from the front – influencing at both departmental and whole-school level – our new Director of Faculty will drive improvements across all humanities subject areas. To do that, you will not only need to be an outstanding practitioner, you will also need the leadership skills to motivate, inspire and empower colleagues to follow your lead.
Humanities is a popular department at TLA. Our new leader will build on that popularity, improving outcomes and progress, further enriching the subject offering, and ensuring that more students choose to study humanities subjects at both KS4 and KS5.
In joining us, you will find an academy and trust committed to your personal development. The Woodard promise to students is mirrored in our promise to staff. That means high quality CPD and opportunities to develop your profile across the Woodard network, as well as an attractive salary, benefits and career pathways.
