Join Team FCAT

As a current Leader of a Humanities department in a school or across a number of schools we are looking for an inspirational and transformational individual; with a proven track record of generating a high performance team culture leading to successful humanities teaching and strong and sustained student outcomes.

This position will ideally suit an individual seeking a new challenge or the next step in leadership to create the trust’s strategic direction for humanities and achieve trust and school improvement objectives. You must be able to secure rapid and lasting impact in developing the humanities curriculum, teaching and learning to narrow the gap between trust average humanities scores in line with national indicators.

Reporting to the FCAT Director of Education, the Director of Humanities will work collaboratively as part of the trust’s School Improvement Team alongside the Directors of English, Science and Maths to ensure a consistent and best practice strategic approach across the trust. This will be with a particular focus at secondary but with the essential underpinning of an all-through approach, and an understanding of primary is essential. You will work across our 10 academies supporting and coaching leadership, curriculum, teaching and learning. You will encourage self-evaluation, innovation and continuous improvement to achieve strong and sustained student outcomes.

FCAT is a large Multi Academy Trust committed to promoting excellence in teaching, learning and leadership. We have 10 academies locally across Blackpool and Lancashire with primary, secondary and all-through including: Blackpool Aspire Academy, Unity Academy Blackpool, Montgomery Academy, Garstang Community Academy, Armfield Academy, Hambleton Primary Academy, Westcliff Primary Academy, Blackpool Gateway Academy, Mereside Primary School and Westminster Primary Academy.

The successful candidate must have the desire to work with pride, ambition, respect, resilience, integrity and excellence so we can be the “best we can be!”.
