This is an exciting time for the academy and the chance to shape the future direction of travel along with the recently appointed Headteacher. We are on a transformative journey of improvement and this post will contribute significantly to ensuring our community flourish. SEND is a key development area for the academy and this post will provide the successful candidate to develop a truly exceptional additional needs provision and drive significant improvements in provision and performance.

The academy is seeking to appoint an outstanding, motivated, inspirational teacher and creative leader who is passionate about ensuring all young people have access to the highest levels of support enabling them to flourish. You will make a difference to the whole TEMA community but particularly to those students who have additional needs and require additional support and extended services to overcome barriers to learning. You will provide vision and strategic leadership to a team committed to improving outcomes for our young people.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with and motivate a wide range of staff, stakeholders and students to achieve shared goals.  You will be a passionate advocate for students’ personal development, champion mental health and ensure students benefit from highly effective interventions and pastoral support whilst maintaining the highest expectations of all. You will work with a wide range of staff both internally and externally to develop both; best practice and supportive relationships which enable young people to realise their full potential. This role also provides scope for enhancing provision within the community and leveraging highly effective strategic partnerships to benefit our students and wider families. We wish to appoint a candidate who has genuine passion, integrity and a determination to succeed.

The successful candidate will join a newly established team who are committed to changing the lives of our students at TEMA. We are proud to serve our diverse and inclusive community and are committed to our cooperative values allowing students to have equality of opportunity. Together, we will work collaboratively to develop innovative practice that is efficient and effective and achieves outcomes. This is a critical appointment for our academy and the successful candidate will receive high levels of support and training to be truly effective in this role. We wish to appoint a practitioner who shares our commitment to young people with additional needs who believes that excellent leadership can leverage high levels of performance and remains optimistic in the face of adversity.

You will join a team of ambitious senior and middle leaders and will assist the Senior Leadership Team in providing a high level strategic, management and operational direction for the school, particularly in relation to SEND. You will have the opportunity to make a considerable impact on the future direction and outcomes the academy achieves. This post offers an outstanding opportunity for professional development in a supportive and highly collaborative environment.
