An opportunity has arisen to join our Pastoral Team as a Director of Learning.

We have a fantastic Pastoral Team who oversee the day to day running of the year groups and who work closely with Curriculum Leaders to ensure our students receive ‘An Excellent Education for All’

Copthall School prides itself on educating 21st century women for successful careers in STEM, human, social and health sciences, performing arts and creative industries. Our thriving sixth form offers both A Level and Vocational pathways and we boast an excellent success rate in University applications.

For a second consecutive year in 2018, our results were outstanding with 31% of all GCSE grades awarded 7-9 / A-A*; 10.5% higher than national average.  Our Progress 8 score is +0.76 which ranks us as a ‘well above average school’.

Copthall has seen rapid improvements in standards across the school. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the learning, progress, attainment, behaviour and wellbeing for a year group of up to 180 students in KS3 or KS4.  As part of their duties they will work closely with the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and will be trained to Level 3 Safeguarding.

Candidates must be aligned with the schools Vision and Values and will need to be able to demonstrate very strong organisational skills, be able to communicate effectively with and support parents, students and outside agencies.  Experience of working with young people is essential.  Our Pastoral Team are First Aid trained, therefore the successful applicant will also be required to undertake First Aid training.  There will also be the need for sound computer skills with the ability to understand and interpret data.
