An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a vibrant and ambitious college in the role of Director of Learning for Business and Commercial Enterprise (37 hours per week/52 weeks per year).

Already known for our excellent pass rates and high student success levels, we aim to become recognised locally and nationally as outstanding by the students, employers and communities we serve.

The new post holder will have strategic responsibility for delivering an outstanding curriculum and ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment across the directorate. Through leading Curriculum teams in the planning and delivery of developmental, innovative and experimental teaching, you will positively impact on learning outcomes, progression and an excellent student experience. You will lead on both internal and external quality assurance arrangements, while championing exemplary practice and encouraging new initiatives.

We are looking for a candidate with proven experience of providing an outstanding teaching and learning experience within a diverse range of technical and professional subjects that includes; Hospitality and Catering, Travel and Tourism, Hair and Beauty Therapy, Business subjects up to Level 7 and the curriculum area for Supported Learning – LLDD provision. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead and motivate a high performing team that is already delivering significant elements of outstanding practice. Candidates will have industry experience in at least one of the curriculum strands. Ability to coordinate curriculum development that includes growing apprenticeship provision, deliver high quality provision, enable clear pathways to employment and create an aspirational culture is also of key importance.
