Director of Learning

Place2Be is the leading children’s mental health charity providing in-school support and expert professional development to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff. We provide therapeutic services in over 280 primary and secondary schools in England, Scotland and Wales, reaching a school population in excess of116,000 children.

We are looking to recruit a Director of Learning to lead and deliver Place2Be’s commitment to becoming a true learning organisation. 

Contributing to the wider leadership of Place2Be, as a member of the Executive team, the role involves providing maximum learning and professional development experience for our front line staff, volunteers and clinical managers; harnessing the experience and evidence built from our front-line practice to inform and develop the training and professional development we offer to the wider clinical and professional workforce.

This position will take a lead role in the strategic development of professional qualification programmes and ensure that these are marketed, and that quality standards are delivered and improved. An integral part of the role also involves building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders creating strong links and collaborative ways of working.

We are looking for a natural leader with a related degree or post graduate qualification with significant experience in leading a successful and innovative team. You will have experience of learning interventions including design, development, delivery and evaluation.  Other skills and experience required to fulfil the role include; experience of managing budgets, proven ability to think strategically, problem solving with excellent interpersonal skills including motivating a team, negotiating, influencing and networking.
