Job overview

Are you a driven, creative and forward-thinking educator looking for a new challenge? Now is the optimum time to join the National Holocaust Centre and Museum.

Founded in 1995 by a Christian family living in Nottinghamshire, the Centre has flourished and grown to achieve both UK national museum status and international recognition. It has acclaimed exhibitions and programmes of learning designed for primary, secondary, and Higher Education students. It also provides a unique opportunity to hear Holocaust survivors giving their testimony and you will have the privilege to work with them to ensure their stories are safe for future generations.

Our purpose is to provide:

  • A permanent memorial to the victims of the Holocaust
  • An age-appropriate understanding of the causes and events of the Holocaust
  • Programmes of learning that encourage personal responsibility and the promotion of fairness and justice, through challenging learners to think critically and to take positive action.

We are at a key point in our development. We now require someone to build on this rich history and with a strong team, provide both on-site and outreach programmes and to utilise amazing digital content in order to extend our reach to wide-ranging new audiences.

The Centre will be undergoing a period of expansion onsite, including the creation of new galleries and exhibitions; the Director of Learning will play a key role in managing all the projects involved.

Could this be for you? Apply if you have the skills, values, and innovation to drive a new generation of Holocaust education.

Closing date: 5 October 2018
Interviews: 10 October 2018
