DIRECTOR OF LEARNING

TMS/UPS plus TLR 2(3a) 

St Gregory the Great Catholic School is seeking to appoint a Director of learning to lead on strategic priorities of the school and manage student academic, personal, social and spiritual welfare, progress and guidance. With the ability to teach Maths or Science is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence a visible impact on student outcomes in their current post and demonstrate the capacity to raise attainment through motivating and inspiring students. The post holder will be committed to St Gregory’s ethos of high expectation and aspiration for all, who is able to share and communicate our vision to staff, students and parents with passion and integrity. 

You will become part of a forward-thinking and supportive team. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference to the achievement and life chances of the young people we serve.

Mission Statement

Established as a centre of Catholic Lifelong Learning serving Oxford and South Oxfordshire, we the students, staff and governors of St. Gregory the Great, Oxford, seek to develop as a community of faith, where Catholic beliefs and values can grow.

Ethos Statement

This school was founded by, and is part of, the Catholic Church. The school shall be conducted in accordance with the provision of the Education Acts and subject thereto, in accordance with:

• the provisions of the Instrument of Government;

• the provisions of these Articles and any Rules or Bye-Laws made thereunder;

• the trust deed of the Archdiocese of Birmingham;

• the teachings and canon law of the Roman Catholic Church; and at all times the school is to serve as a witness to the Catholic Faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts of collective worship shall be in accordance with the rites, practices, discipline and liturgical norms of the Catholic Church.

The form and content of religious education provided shall be determined from time to time by the Governing Body and shall be in accordance with the teaching, discipline and particular norms of the Catholic Church.
