Job overview

Leadership Points will be available for suitably qualified candidates (L14 to 18)

Are you a talented and innovative practitioner who teaches creative and inspiring lessons for students of all abilities? Are you passionate about Science? If so, why not join us?

We are looking for an exceptional leader, because exceptional is what our students deserve. Results in science are improving, but there is still more work to do. We have a new team of fully qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated science teachers who are keen to make these improvements happen. We have a well-designed curriculum where, after a solid grounding during Key Stage 3, students are guided onto individualised pathways at KS4 with triple, double GCSE and single Science on offer. We also run very popular GCE A Level Science courses at Key Stage 5. Many of our students go on to study Science subjects, including medicine, engineering and pharmacy at good universities. The school is very well resourced, and all the science laboratories and preparation room were totally refurbished over the summer of 2014.

The post is suited to an ambitious, forward thinking scientist looking to further their career in a supportive and inclusive school.

Whitefield School was named as being the fourth best school in the country for getting outstanding results for students from disadvantaged backgrounds (School’s Week, February 2016).

Whitefield is a good school with outstanding leadership and management (Ofsted 2014). Our examinations results continue to rise year on year. But we still have ambitious plans for the future.

The successful candidate will have access to continuous professional development through our dedicated internal and external CPL programme. The school also offers various benefits to all employees through our pro-active staff well-being team.
