Job overview
We are looking to appoint an ambitious, innovative and outstanding Director of Learning to provide leadership of Science within the school. The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership and management skills and will be able to continue to raise standards for all our students in Science. He or she will be able to motivate, inspire and support a strong team and will enjoy working in this small, family centred non selective girls’ school that has high aspirations, low average class sizes and great results.
Science is a highly successful subject at DSTC. The department is well-resourced with very good lab facilities and a strong team of teachers and technicians. We teach both GCSE combined and separate Sciences. At Key Stage 5 we offer A Level Biology and Applied Science and are introducing A Level Chemistry from September 2018.
Dartford Science and Technology College is a Good school where "pupils achieve well and thrive" and "all groups of pupils achieve well" (Ofsted March 2017). We have a clear vision for the future and have set a range of challenging targets. This is a high quality learning community for girls aged 11-18 with a mixed Sixth Form.
