Job Summary


The Director of Admissions & Marketing is a key senior post in the College, reporting directly to the CEO of Educ8 Group, and a member of both the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The successful candidate will work with many internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the admissions processes clearly connect the recruitment of students to the academic objectives and priorities of the College. He/she will lead the Marketing and Admissions departments to ensure that all marketing strategies and processes complement the academic objectives of the College and the role is pivotal in presenting the College to prospective parents and pupils. The position will have the responsibility for leading the Admissions and Marketing teams to ensure a seamless Student Customer Journey through setting relevant policy, procedures, quality standards, customer service standards, and ensuring their delivery to all prospective students, applicants, and their influencers. He/she will be responsible for developing the College’s commercial activities, including, but not limited to, facility lettings, holiday courses, sponsorship and bursary fundraising. He/she will be the front-of-house presence at key public marketing and admissions events. He/she will develop College alumni relations. He/she will lead, with the Headmaster, on the development of links between Epsom College and its sister school in the UK.

 

Specific Tasks:

·    Establish and achieve target growth and retention numbers in line with the College’s multi-year annual budget plan;

·    Develop, review and implement a comprehensive Marketing & Admissions Asia wide strategy;

·    Research and develop new opportunities for admissions in line with the College’s stated aim to widen access nationally and internationally;

·    Ensure every member of staff in school is aware of their role in attracting, converting and retaining students and is actively and appropriately engaged in all three activities;

·    Lead, motivate and inspire a team of staff to run the Admissions and Marketing Department within the College;

·    Oversee the arrangements for school visits, tours and meetings with the relevant Senior team leaders, including the Headmaster and Housemasters/Housemistresses by prospective parents, meeting all prospective parents who visit the school and managing taster days;

·    Feeder Schools Liaison – with the support of the Marketing Department, keep in regular contact, directly and indirectly, with feeder schools to build and develop closer cooperation;

·    Line-managing the marketing department to ensure that all marketing collaterals and advertisements, including the website, are up to date, relevant and correct in terms of language and content and brand positioning;

·    The coordination of representation at national and international exhibitions and events for international and British schools and internal promotional events, e.g. PISF, Prospective Sixth Form Evening, Induction day etc.;

·    Oversight and involvement in national and international marketing trips, organising the required participation of members of the ELT/SLT and specific teachers;

·    Advise, lead and be an integral part of the marketing department and faculties/houses on the most appropriate use of digital and social media, developing and implementing agreed channels and platforms;

·    Organisational responsibility for all key parental marketing events e.g. Open Days and parent information events;

·    The organisation, management and strategic development of the commercial initiatives of the College so as to maximise revenue from College-owned facilities without adversely impacting pupils, including holiday course programmes;

·    To make recommendations to the Headmaster for the offering of places for all ages in liaison with the Deputy Head (Students) to ensure that the College’s targets for recruitment are met and exceeded, consistent with academic entry standards, and to maximize the desired number of entrants as required;

·    Liaise with academic staff over subject options and curriculum requirements for new pupils, and ensure that all pupil references from previous schools are requested, received and disseminated as required;

·    Responsible for providing projected and current pupil numbers and regular analysis of admissions statistics and trends;

·    Maintain an up-to-date evidence base of the needs and concerns of our internal and external stakeholders in relation to the growth and retention of students and that this evidence is communicated to the Board of Governors as and when required;

·    Attendance at all Board of Governors’ Meetings (usually three times annually at Epsom College in Malaysia);

·    Plan, develop and manage a programme of bursary fundraising, the overseeing allocation of bursaries in conjunction with the Headmaster and Bursar;

·    Establish, develop and manage the Old Epsomian in Malaysia (OEM) society, liaising closely with the OE Club Coordinator at Epsom College UK; and ECiM Alumni Club.

·    Responsible for preparation and management of the Marketing & Admissions Department budget;

·    Other duties as reasonably required by the CEO & Headmaster.

Epsom College in Malaysia is a new boarding and day school set on a 50-acre site at Bandar Enstek, south of Kuala Lumpur. Seen as a major development in the field of education in Malaysia, Epsom is co-educational and follows an adapted English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE and A-Level. The medium of teaching throughout is English. The Senior School, with a small Prep School on site for day pupils 3 - 10 years old, opened in September 2014. Our Prep School lessons run Monday to Friday, and Senior School lessons are Monday to Saturday lunchtime. Our boarding programme runs 7 days per week.

Based on the home model, Epsom College in Malaysia combines academic excellence with a first class British boarding experience. The emphasis is on creating a family environment within a structured school routine, with a traditional House system fostering a strong feeling of belonging and community.

The College has strong links with many influential Malaysian figures, not least Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes C.B.E., himself a former pupil of Epsom College, who has been appointed Chairman of the Governors of the school with Mr Matthew Brown as its current Headmaster.

In addition to full boarding, weekly boarding from Year 7, which was pioneered by Epsom College in the UK, is an option. This is popular with parents who want a British boarding lifestyle for their children without having to travel long distances.

The impressive campus, being developed on a green-field site, comprises ultra-modern hi-tech, environmentally-friendly buildings, with specialised facilities for teaching and learning, boarding, music, drama, art/DT and sport. The whole campus supports a wi-fi network to maximise access to the internet for learning and independent research.

The Prep School at Bandar Enstek is a small community of children between 3-10 years share a purpose-built school with facilities and spaces especially designed for their learning and pastoral needs. It possesses a carefully designed playground, with a sandpit, gardens, climbing area and ball games. In addition there are opportunities to access the Senior School's impressive facilities.
