Hampton College is an established, successful, all-through school, which formed its own multi-academy trust (Hampton Academies Trust- HAT) in 2014. The Trust is also the education provider for the new neighbouring secondary school, Hampton Gardens School and Hampton Lakes Primary School, which is due to open in 2019. HAT schools have very close links and some shared staff.

Hampton College currently serves the community of Hampton, on the southern outskirts of the city of Peterborough and has good links to Cambridge and Stamford.  Hampton Gardens School serves the neighbouring Cambridgeshire village of Yaxley, as well new housing being added to the Hampton East development, where Hampton Lakes Primary School will also be located.

Leadership Spine – point is negotiable

We are looking to appoint a Director of Maths to join us at an exciting time as Hampton College continues its journey to become an outstanding school. This position provides a unique opportunity to lead and develop the maths department whilst holding additional leadership responsibilities. We are looking to appoint the best person for this position, therefore the exact areas of additional responsibility will be open for negotiation.

• To lead a strong Maths Department, raise attainment and develop teaching and learning in Maths;

• To undertake specific leadership responsibilities (to be negotiated with the successful applicant);

• For a practitioner with a successful track record in achieving high standards and securing improvement through innovative teaching and who is ready for the next challenge in a leadership role;

• In a school where active learning and experimentation are encouraged and where Maths is valued and supported by the leadership team;

• In a modern building where each teaching space has interactive facilities;

• In an expanding trust where promotion and developmental opportunities arise regularly;

• Monitor the academic progress of students;

• Embrace creativity and  innovation and always looking for the very best practice in teaching;
