An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sir Thomas Wharton Academy for an exceptional Director of Modern Foreign Languages to work with an experienced and highly motivated team of professionals.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and talented teacher with a proven track record of securing successful student outcomes across all key stages. The Director of Modern Foreign Languages will possess the key leadership qualities necessary to develop professionals, inspire young people and contribute to school improvement as part of the extended Academy leadership team.

Sir Thomas Wharton Academy already has a strong team of professionals delivering high quality learning in and out of the classroom who work together to achieve our Academy vision ‘to deliver exceptional learning experiences that enable all young people to thrive in a competitive world and lead successful and fulfilling lives’. • have a proven track record of raising and maintaining standards and securing high quality provision.

• be an advocate of partnership working and community engagement.

• be a team player and work closely with other leaders and professionals to develop and implement effective strategies and processes of departmental improvement.

• have a true growth mindset, exceptional work ethic and a sense of humour.

• be committed to the Sir Thomas Wharton Academy vision.

• have the knowledge and experience of the context in which Sir Thomas Wharton Academy operates.

Sir Thomas Wharton Academy is a good secondary school of over 1100 students with a thriving and growing collaborative Post 16 provision. The Academy joined Maltby Learning Trust on 1st April 2017 and secured an OFSTED Good judgement in September 2021. We are now oversubscribed each year and we are very fortunate to be housed in a new building with state-of-the-art facilities.
