This is an ideal opportunity for a talented and inspiring teacher or musician, looking for a Director of Music role, to join the Music Department at Elstree on a temporary basis, covering a maternity leave. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational running of the Music Department, leading a team of teachers and visiting music staff to deliver high quality curriculum and first class co-curricular musical activities and events. The Director of Music (maternity cover) inspires excellence, fosters a culture of participation and performance, and promotes a love of music across the whole school. We welcome applications from experienced teachers who are looking to take the next step, or from talented musicians who are seeking a fresh new challenge in a rural prep school setting. The role could be combined with other musical commitments.

Set in 150 acres of stunning parkland in rural West Berkshire, Elstree welcomes boys and girls aged 3-13 years. Originally founded in 1848, it moved to its current location in 1939 and opened its Pre-Prep school in 1993. It offers boarding, both flexi and weekly, from Year 4 onwards.
