Nova Education Trust are looking to recruit a Director of Safeguarding to start in January 2022, or earlier if possible.

The Director of Safeguarding will play a critical role in ensuring our schools and services meet all regulatory standards with regards to safeguarding.  The Director will become the Trust’s safeguarding expert and will be the point of contact for all child protection issues and queries. 

The Director of Safeguarding will be responsible for our strategic development, working with our Executive team, to deliver operational delivery across a range of key educational performance indicators and building a compelling culture across our Trust.

The individual appointed will oversee all aspects of the Trust’s safeguarding arrangements – from monitoring safeguarding and child protection issues to managing specific cases.  They will also develop bespoke safeguarding training for staff and will develop strategies for improving current arrangements, working directly with Designated Safeguarding Leads.

In addition, the Director of Safeguarding will also have strategic responsibility for the development of the RSE and Personal development curriculum, linking in with pastoral leads.

This role demands someone with credibility, drive, enthusiasm, the ability to think creatively and the skills to engage others.  Recent and successful experience as a senior leader is essential and current experience in the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead in school or as a LADO.
