About the Role

The Holy Family Care Outside of School Hours program (COOSH) operates a service led by a team of, experienced and energetic educators who are highly enthusiastic and enjoy working with children. The centre endeavours to make every child’s experience a positive one, full of fun, creative and affirming. We are seeking a Leader to guide and work with our care team.

The position exists to support the implementation of the mission of Catholic education and to provide high quality service and programs for school age children before and after school at Holy Family Primary. The Director has leadership responsibility in the area of the development and day-to-day management of the School Age Care Centre.

This position requires the incumbent to be the Nominated Supervisor for the Centre.

This position is temporary in nature because the substantive occupant (the incumbent) is taking parental leave. The incumbent is entitled to return earlier to their substantive position in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.

Essential Criteria

The successful applicant will need to be a person with:

  • A willingness to support the ethos and mission of Catholic education.
  • A thorough knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and people management skills. Ability to direct and support staff to achieve the Centre Mission.
  • Proven and effective leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of high quality educational and care programs for groups of primary school age care children.
  • A proven capacity to provide inclusive programs which are based on the recorded observations and interpretation of children’s responses, needs and interests.
  • A sound ability to provide programs which have a commitment to active involvement of families and local community.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring and leading a team of educators.
  • A proven ability to implement and effectively manage financial and administrative systems
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations, and the implications of legal, employment and child protection policies.
