This is an exciting time to join The Charles Dickens School, as it joined Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT) on 1 March 2017, working in partnership with Barton Court Grammar School, an outstanding rated co-educational grammar school in Canterbury. A dedicated and enthusiastic Director of Science is required for either September 2017 or January 2018 in this over-subscribed non-selective, co-educational school which benefits from the state-of-the-art new buildings and is situated in a beautiful part of the South East coast. The School enjoys a good reputation locally, with dedicated colleagues and enthusiastic students. Staff hold high expectations for all students and work tirelessly to continue to raise attainment and achievement.
The successful candidate should be able to deliver excellence in the classroom, providing innovative and inspirational teaching and learning. The Director will share responsibility for senior leadership and management of the School ensuring continual improvement and high quality, engaging and fulfilling cognitive education for all students in Science. The Director will lead a subject (either Biology or Chemistry) as well as the whole Science team and will be a member of the Extended Leadership Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to work with colleagues to build a vibrant and outstanding department and gain experience of senior leadership. This post is suitable for an experienced professional with a track record of success who is looking to further their expertise.
