Job overview

We are seeking a visionary leader to support the Deputy Principal in achieving the College’s objectives by providing strategic and operational leadership and leading on the development of teaching, learning and assessment across the Directorate, including English and Maths, provision for students aged 19+ and Higher Education.

This role is pivotal to ensure high quality leadership and management of the Directorate in accordance with the College’s Mission, Vision and Values. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a whole College English and Maths strategy that will support continuous improvement in the delivery of English and Maths and improved outcomes for students. Ensuring year-on-year improvements in outcomes for student across the Directorate, including retention and achievement, Value Added and progression.

The successful candidate will have the ability to manage and lead across more than one subject area/specialism with extensive experience of developing and implementing successful strategies to secure improvements in outcomes for students. Evidence of leading a team to achieve results and a proven record of meeting and exceeding targets for recruitment, retention and student results, across a number areas are critical for this role.

Cambridge Regional College is a co-educational further education college located in Cambridge. Providing places to students aged 14 and over, the college has several thousand learners young and old, full and part-time. Cambridge Regional College has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation over the years, and as such can boast of a wide range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, with the most recent major development, which opened in 2011, providing the college with a brand new Low Carbon Centre. The college also plays host to a number of vocational teaching workshops and study areas.
