Job overview
We are looking to appoint an ambitious and exceptional Director of Sport who can deliver outstanding, innovative provision. You will bring leadership experience together with the skills to coach, support and direct staff within the School. You will help build on our success within this subject and guide our positive, forward-thinking team to further achievements.
The successful candidate will model good practice, lead the teaching of Sport at all levels. Accountable for pupil progress and development, the post-holder will inspire and build a supportive culture that values effort and achievement and ensures everyone; the team and pupils alike, can be the best they can be.
Key requirements of this role include:
- significant experience in at least two of the main school sports (rugby, football, tennis, hockey, cricket, netball)
- to provide inspirational and dynamic leadership and build an effective team of teachers and coaches
- Oversee a competitive and balanced sports fixtures programme
- Establish, monitor and maintain coaching best practice for each sport
- be a Form Tutor
GWS has an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities and a willingness to contribute to this aspect of school would be essential.
