The Kuala Lumpur Alice Smith School (KLASS) is fully accredited as a British School Overseas and has recently received an exceptional Council of British International Schools (COBIS) Accreditation and Compliance Report. Our school has an established reputation for excellence, and as a not-for-profit educational foundation, all resources are focused on the development and well-being of students. Located on two sites in Kuala Lumpur with excellent facilities, it has a total student population of approximately 1,600 and caters for the full age range from 3 to 18 years.

We have recently significantly expanded our sports facilities and have world-class facilities for our students and the wider community. At the Secondary Campus, they include an IAAF certified track, an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, a small water-based astroturf, two rugby/football fields, two large sports halls, a multi-purpose indoor space, a climbing/bouldering wall, a dance studio and a number of smaller gym spaces allowing for CrossFit, spinning and weight training sessions. Our Primary Campus facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, multi-purpose gyms and an astroturf field.
The Director of Sport will lead the strategic development of school sport across both campuses in relation to our philosophy for sport and our goals for the future. This will include making recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Council of Governors (COG) for the further development and improvement of sport and the implementation of these agreed recommendations for improvement.
The successful candidate is responsible for the school’s PE and Sports programme, ensuring the design, implementation and delivery of an effective and comprehensive programme of sports teaching, coaching and performance development. This includes leading and further developing our Saturday Morning Sports Programme.
Applicants are expected to be responsive and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills. They will be an effective leader and manager, able to build team commitment and take positive action to improve the quality of sport provision in the school.
