The Post: Director of Sport (Netball Specialist)

For August 2025, we are looking to recruit a Director of Sport. This position will be responsible for leading and managing whole school sports provision delivering lessons, sports teams and fixtures throughout the school. The appointee will have a demonstrable passion for Physical Education and Sport. They will also have responsibility for the monitoring and delivery of an effective and comprehensive Sports strategy and programme, focussing primarily on the four main SES core sports [Athletics, Netball, Football and Cricket] but also supporting all sporting activities and events within the school by taking a lead in the School Inter House competition. The Director of Sport will also advance the physical education of all pupils at the school and promote a healthy lifestyle. This post has responsibility for leading sport across the entire School both Primary & Secondary, and leading all staff who teach PE and Games, staff who coach sport, and those staff that support the programme.

The successful candidate must have the following:

• Teaching qualification/Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong leadership skills
• Proficient and experienced at teaching PE and sports coaching, with an outstanding track record
• Experience of having created and delivered a successful whole school approach to a competitive games
• programme with external partnership involvement
• Commitment to raising the achievement and standards of both students and colleagues.
• Ability to inspire colleagues and students.
• An excellent team player and team leader.
• Able to work positively and effectively with students, parents, outside agencies and colleagues.
• Exemplary communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Possess good organisational skills, manage time efficiently.
• Offer substantial commitment to co-curricular activities.
