The Director of Student Support role is central to the aims and ambitions of Newham Community Learning, a Trust of two primary and four secondary schools, located close together in the London Borough of Newham.
We serve a diverse community, with significant levels of deprivation, but also with high levels of aspiration. Our goal is simple: to provide a standard of education which is as good as the best that can be found anywhere else in the country.
You will make a difference to the standard of education by providing information, advice and support to Senior Leaders and colleagues across the Trust on a range of personal, pastoral and academic issues through collaborative partnership
You will also be able to draw on the expertise of our highly skilled Headteachers and leaders of Teaching and Learning across the Trust. You will work collaboratively with schools, building on their practice, facilitating knowledge sharing and ensuring that school improvement is rigorous at all our schools.
This is a role requiring expertise, energy, determination, organisation, communication skills, and above all a relentless determination for our schools to provide a consistently excellent educational experience for all our students, at every stage of their journey through school.

About Newham Community Learning
Newham Community Learning exists in order to provide an excellent education for all young people in our community. We are the only Trust to offer all-through provision from ages 2 - 16 within a single family of schools in Newham. Across our two primary and four secondary schools, all located in the west of the borough, we educate over 5,400 local children and young people, and employ a team of close to 700 members of staff, the vast majority of whom live locally.

September 2023 - We are delighted to partner with Teach First to deliver our School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme. Teach First is a national charity that develops and supports teachers and leaders who are determined to make a difference where it is needed the most. As a training partner, we will be working with Teach First to deliver this one year teacher training programme, which enables participants to train and develop skills in the classroom. It is ideal for people who are eager to learn on the job and make a difference in their community from day one.
