Job overview

We are a friendly international boarding school on the beautiful Malvern Hills. We are looking for a teacher of EFL who has DELTA or Trinity Diploma to lead the department. 

This position could be residential. It could be full time or part time.

We are looking for someone who is a good teacher, well organised and a strong team player. You should be able to cater for students from 8 to 18.

The role involves all of the following:

Teaching IELTS/IGCSE and General English 

Producing schemes of work 

Recruitment of EFL Teachers 

Choosing resources

Supporting Professional Development of EFL Teachers

Organising exams including PET and IELTS 

Conducting Skype interviews with potential students

Observations of EFL teaching

Organising integrated teaching weeks

Timetabling EFL classes

Receiving, scanning and issuing IELTS and other certificates

Correspondence with parents/agents on academic issues

Proof reading UCAS Personal Statements

Running of short courses (timetabling/staffing/syllabus)

Ensuring we are compliant with inspection bodies (ISA, UKVI, British Council)

Reviewing teacher planners

Reviewing All Mid and End of Term exams

Abbey College is a mixed, independent, non-denominational, secondary international boarding school, situated on a 70-acre campus in Malvern, Worcestershire. There are 49 students aged 14-19 on the school roll, 46 of whom are boarding students. 

The site of the current Abbey College has been used for education since 1874, with the original main building built in 1863. Facilities now include a library, computer rooms, three science laboratories, 15 classrooms, common room areas, cinema, disco, multi-gym and sporting facilities.
