This is a new post reflecting the growth of the College and our vision for learning. We believe that as a college full of excellent teachers, the best way for us to extend the life chances and opportunities for our students now, is by maximising what our students do outside of the classroom.
Students who use their non-lesson time well expand their CVs and do better on their courses; this post is designed to help students do that and to also help teachers and departments to co-ordinate their efforts in that direction.
Under the line management of the Assistant Principal (Pastoral) you will be part of a large team of teachers, managers and Learning Support Assistants who facilitate the learning and progression of the widest range of students: from Level 2 to Oxbridge, from pure mathematicians to artists. You will have responsibility for co-ordinating and promoting many aspects of support for academic and extra-curricular learning alongside your teaching, and contributing to the operational and strategic development of the College through your work as part of the SLT.
We are excited about this strategic college development, we think it will facilitate individual brilliance for students and is a superb opportunity for the right candidate.
Applications from teachers in schools and sixth form college sectors are welcome. A full mentoring programme is organised to introduce all new staff to sixth form college systems and procedures and to support and encourage professional development.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate, with aspiration and potential to join our senior leadership team. We expect high performance from all our staff, and are looking for an impressive individual to inspire students and staff. Candidates should demonstrate their ability and suitability to both the role and the culture of the College.
There is an expectation that the post holder will work for the customary 39 weeks, plus two weeks cover during the holiday periods, by negotiation.
