The Directors seek to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated practitioner to the position of Director of Technology with effect from August 2018
The British School in Colombo is an independent, co-educational day school which follows the National Curriculum for England. The school serves an international pupil body with some 48 different nationalities although around half the children are of Sri Lankan origin. The school employs both local and expatriate teachers. There are currently 1400 pupils on roll with waiting lists for most year groups.
The school is housed in modern, purpose-built accommodation with dedicated facilities for science, ICT, art, music and sport. The professionally equipped auditorium is used for assemblies and productions throughout the year. There are also dedicated libraries for senior and junior pupils.
BSC seeks an experienced educator who will lead the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. The Director of Technology should have a very good understanding of network and server issues and be an excellent problem-solver. The school is a Microsoft Showcase School and uses Office 365 for teaching and learning. The school's information management system is Engage.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The initial contract is for two years and is renewable. The salary and range of benefits will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate and reflect the seniority of this position.
