With a range of hours available, both on a year-round or term time only basis, and opportunities for progression, our Domestic Cleaner posts are an ideal opportunity for candidates who take pride in what they do. 

The school campus is integral to the town of Uppingham, uniting historic buildings and modern facilities to create a unique and beautiful environment. Amongst the 45 buildings within an estate stretching over 120 acres, our 15 boarding houses provide a home away from home for our 800 pupils. The cleanliness of our buildings and the running of domestic duties such as meal service and laundry are maintained and carried out by a dedicated team of cleaners.

Under the direction of a Team Leader or Assistant Cleaning Manager, you will carry out a range of cleaning tasks independently, including but not limited to washing, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning and sweeping, as well as carrying out domestic duties. 

We are looking for hardworking, professional, friendly and approachable candidates to join our team. Previous cleaning experience is required as is the ability to work with others and with minimum supervision. 

We have various shifts available and working hours are typically from 9.15am to 2.25pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on the weekends. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your availability and requirements at interview. 

FTE salary for this role is £25,594.44. The actual salary will depend on your working hours, for example:

  • 23.35 hours per week (5 days per week), 35 weeks per year = £11,215.92
  • 28.35 hours per week (6 days per week), 35 weeks per year = £13,344.12

Uppingham School is a mixed, Church of England independent secondary school with sixth form and boarding, located in Leicestershire. The secondary school, situated in Uppingham has approximately 791 students on record.
