Mamma Mia!

Our spectacular theatrical performing arts department is running low on directors and producers! Can you help? We have got most fabulously talented group of Jersey Boys and Girls waiting for you to point the spotlight on them and let them shine. If you love the Sound of Music and MidSummer Night’s Dream to work in an environment that values originality, we would love to hear from you. The stage is set … are you?

We assume that you are hard-working and committed to pupils’ learning. Who isn’t? We want someone who has those traits but also a bit extra. If you are an outstanding Drama teacher who can enhance our performing arts department, please get in touch.

Carew Academy is a school for pupils between the ages of 7-16 who have Moderate Learning Disabilities. Some pupils also have Autistic Spectrum Disorder and a small number of pupils also have Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. At Carew, we are creating a vision that places our learners and their families at the heart of everything we do.

The school has achieved a huge amount since academy conversion in September 2013. In June 2015, we received our first Ofsted inspection as a new school, receiving a Good overall judgement with Outstanding behaviour and safety.

We are looking for someone with drive, creativity and a passion for teaching to join our team and help our improving school to work towards outstanding status. Academy Status brings new opportunities. Experience of working with pupils with SEN in either a mainstream or special setting is desirable but not essential. What is imperative is that you have high expectations, a love of challenge and a determination to make a difference to the lives of our fantastic children.

NQTs are particularly welcome to apply
