Driver/ Escort - Part Time, Term Time Only

Cumberland Beacon School is a co-educational day school based in Rivington near Horwich and currently provides for pupils aged 11 -16 with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. Many pupils present with additional co-existing conditions, such as ADHD, attachment disorder and speech and language difficulties, which impact significantly on their learning and progress.

Your role as a Driver/Escort will be to either drive one of the school minibuses, or escort the children whilst they are driven, collecting them from their homes in the morning, and returning them after school.  The number of young people in each vehicle will be between one and 6, and there will always be 2 Driver/Escorts present.

Ideally applicants will have a clean driving licence with a minimum of 5 years driving experience, be over 25, have a good sense of humour and have the ability to work as part of a team.  Applicants should be of smart appearance, reliable and good time keepers.  We will consider applications from non-drivers who can be employed as an Escort only.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check and, if employed as a Driver/Escort, will complete a MIDAS driver training course.  All employees will undertake staff induction training.

Hours

You will work 25 hours per week, and your hours will be split between the morning and afternoon school runs.  Term time only.

Reward

£8.74 - £8.90 per hour / £9,896 - £10,394 pro rata'd annually.
