Northampton Academy is a transformational comprehensive and non-selective school, serving a diverse community. We were proud to be judged 'good and improving' by Ofsted in all areas in November 2019. Our values, which underpin every decision we take, are RESPECT, DETERMINATION, AMBITION, TOLERANCE and INTEGRITY. We have a comprehensive student character-building programme, which has been nationally recognised through the Character Kitemark.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design Technology teacher. The ability to offer Textiles to KS5 would be desirable but is not an essential requirement.
You will have Qualified Teacher Status. You’re an inspiring practitioner with a proven track record of success within a secondary school setting.
You are an experienced teacher who consistently teaches good to outstanding lessons, or a less experienced teacher with the potential to be consistently good or outstanding. You will have good interpersonal skills, sound behaviour management skills and have the highest expectations for what our students can achieve.
We welcome applications from experienced classroom teachers looking for a new opportunity and from NQTs looking to start an exciting new career.
NORTHAMPTON ACADEMY is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.
Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.
As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
Northampton Academy is committed to safeguarding the welfare of its students and the successful appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
