Job overview

St. Julian’s is seeking an experienced, innovative Design Technology teacher to join our small, dedicated DT team. Design Technology is taught throughout years 6 to year 9, with the option of choosing Resistant Materials or Graphic Products at GCSE and Design Technology for the IB DP. Experience teaching Design Technology at A Level or SL/HL in the IBDP would be a strong advantage. The department is well-resourced with 2 dedicated workshops, a heat treatment room, a computer lab, and a small design studio. The department aims to incorporate CAD/CAM and traditional workshop skills embedded in a topic-based curriculum. We have a strong pastoral system and the successful candidate may be asked to take an active role as a tutor.

We are a highly successful, non-selective 3-18 British international school with a reputation for academic excellence, founded in 1932. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) embraces the two years of Nursery and Reception, ages three to five. Thereafter students progress through the Key Stages of the curriculum.

The Secondary section attempts to nurture in each student a sense of self-confidence and happiness; students are encouraged to speak up for themselves and relationships between teachers and students are lively, engaging and stimulating. At the end of Key Stage 4, students take a series of public examinations (GCSE and IGCSEs).
