Job overview

We are seeking a design and technology Technician for our Innovation Department which includes, Design and technology, Food, Motor Vehicle, Art and Photography. From September we will be offering a GCSE in Construction and therefore any knowledge or experience within the Construction industry such as basic plastering, bricklaying, electrics, plumbing, painting and decorating would be most advantageous.

With at least a pass at GCSE level in both English Language and Mathematics and experience of using workshop machinery of a semi-industrial nature. You will be able to supervise small groups of students in practical work under the instruction of the class teacher. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and also follow set instructions as well as have exceptionally high standards in regards to health and safety and risk assessment. 

You will need to have working knowledge of using Microsoft Office programmes and previous experience of using computer aided machinery and equipment.

The successful applicant will need to be flexible and be able to use their own initiative to help provide the best outcomes for students. This role will include supporting students and staff within the classroom.

The ideal candidate will be well organised, practical and have excellent technical skills. They will have experience of working with students and a willingness to help students achieve and enable them to be the best they can.
