The role

Smart Teachers is seeking to appoint a DT Technician to work within a 11 – 18 mainstream secondary school based in the heart of Redbridge. 

The school

The ideal candidate should demonstrate some experience within a similar role at the very least and be organised and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team. You will be expected to assist with the day to day running of technical support and the preparation of DT rooms. Experience using different forms of equipment across a technology department is a must.

Requirements

To be considered for the DT Technician position you will have. 

• Be eligible to work in the UK (must have a valid visa)

• Be competent and confident using and maintaining the following equipment: CAD/CAM, Laser Cutter, band saw, circular saw, pillar drill, plastic forming equipment and other workshop equipment including being able to look after and maintain sewing machines and other equipment used with the Design Technology department.

• Possess recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks.

• Have referenceable experience working as a Design Technology Technician in UK secondary schools
